Ancient Troll

This old Troll is my most recent 3D piece, based on a Schell Studio sculpture.
I'm doing it for the purpose of studying and I've been learning a lot. Even now while I'm just watching it from a bird's eye view and checking the overall progress.
Jordu Schell is a master at what he does and his fantasy and precise work is a definite influence. The piece was sculpted on ZBrush and rendered on 3dsmax, with VRay, post on Photoshop.

A Chapulín Colorado Fan Tribute

This is a piece about my definite favorite superhero. The "Little Red", "The Red Thumb", I mean: El Chapulín Colorado.
I've always watched the show since I was a kid and it amazes me that I can still laugh at his same old jokes. Even though I've watched each episode a thousand times.
In my opinion, Roberto Bolaños - his creator- is a genius and Chapulín is the official Latin America Hero.
Rendered in 3dsmax, sculpted on Zbrush, lighting in V-Ray and post production on Photoshop.

The Hulk

This is a personal project that worked out as a tremendous lesson for me. A Hulk sculpture I was intending at first to simply pose in the background of a scene I'm creating.
But as the sculpture moved along and I got into it, I decided to take it to the next level and work on a cinematic kind of shading for it.
Later I'll post the other superhero Hulk was originally intended to confront. So there goes my version of the Hulk.
Softwares used were ZBrush, 3dsmax, VRay and Photoshop.

Business Man

This character is inspired on a concept by Olijosman.
I admire this guy's work a lot. He concentrates great designs and stylization with a remarkable 2d techinique.
My attempt was to take his cartunish forms through 3d, giving it realism feel to the whole piece.

ZBrush Sculptures

 Here are some of my lastest z works. This time trying a more realistic aproach.
The moving forward werewolf is based on a sculpture by Slor. I really admire his work and wanted to learn a bit more from his such realistic style.
The minotaur sculpt is based on a Carlos Huante concept. His work has been of a tremendous impact for me and I always wanted to sculpt something out of it.
The other scuptures are all an original concepts: the big clumsy dude and the second werewolf.

"Let There Be Nerds!"

Essa é uma peça produzida em tempo absolutamente recorde pra mim, numa clara influência da época de Olimpíadas.
O projeto me rendeu exatamente quatro dias. E para o tempo que eu tive pra faze-la -antes que o prazo de um Contest terminasse-, fiquei satisfeito com o resultado.
Trata-se de uma cena remontando de forma cartoon um momento importante da vida de um famoso diretor de Hollywood.
Reza a lenda que, através de uma contrato, ele teria trocado um salário mais alto pelos direitos de merchandising e comercialização dos personagens de seu filme. O que acabou viabilizando a decolagem de sua carreira e, no fim das contas, do mercado de 3D em geral.

Guerra dos Sexos - A Nova Novela da Globo!



Esse é o último trabalho que eu participei a bordo da Seagulls Fly. A abertura da nova novela das sete na Globo: Guerra dos Sexos. Foi o projeto de animação que eu participei mais ativamente até hoje e ao final do processo, eu fiquei feliz com o resultado que a gente entregou.
Fui responsável pela modelagem, texturas, hairs e shadings na confecção de cinco personagens: o casal de cachorros, o casal de pássaros e o Tony Ramos. Além de iluminar, texturizar e finalizar várias cenas.

Estudos de Iluminação

Esses são alguns estudos que eu fiz um tempo atrás sobre Iluminação. O objtivo era conseguir simular um mesmo ambiente nas mais variadas atmosferas que a luz do dia se apresenta. Utilizando conceitos de Fotografia - exposição, gamma, etc.
O estudo foi feito com base em um livro chamado Lighting La Salle, de autoria de Jamie Cardoso. E me deu uma base muito sólida pra experimentar atmosferas nas minhas cenas a partir daí.

Softwares: 3dsmax, Mental Ray, Photoshop.




Evil Sliced Bread

A character design I made about an evil bread.
I got a general sketch form the art director and basically concepted his face and expression while sculpting.
I also modelled the railroad train and the rest of the scene. It was a pretty fun project.
